Miss Camp America

Programs & Clippings

Miss Camp America began in 1969 and its first large scale pageant was
in 1974. In 1977 it achieved non-profit status by the late 1980s was
donating most of the funds raised to AIDS charities. Over
its 36-year history it dispersed over one million dollars.

While there were other fundraising events during a year, its annual
Miss Camp America Pageant was crowning glory, modeled after
and held on the same date as the Miss America Pageant.

The organization closed at the end of 2005, with one reason being the
Miss America pageant moving its date to January, making the huge
amount of planning and rehearsals difficult to occur during
the Christmas holidays.

If anyone can provide me with scans of years prior to 1985,
or loan them to me, I would much appreciate it.
