This is one of the community organizations that sprung from
Town Meeting I, as summarized in the clipping below

Introduction

I could not do a better introduction for this section than the one that describes
the files donated to the University of Texas (Austin) by Dennis Medina. He was
very active in the group for years and you can find the rest of those details here.

The organization lasted until about the end of 1995. Newsletters named Noticias
were produced from roughly 1982 through 1995. A few can be viewed below.

"The Wetback Controversy"

In April 1988 Mary's bar ran an ad in the Montrose Voice that was
considered to be racist. It yielded picketing and letters to the editor.
Complicating things was that the ad was run by the Hispanic manager
of the bar, as a satire, so there were varying points of view.
